Enlightenment taking different forms
Shattering the norm
of every era it blesses

Source and sought combined
I have known no purer energy
even in the farthest, untamed
reaches of nature

A veil has been removed in your departure
Would I have been crushed to know
the enormity of that with Whom I dealt?

"Recapitulate", you said,
"It is all there, waiting",
in the fibers of all whose lives you touched

Must consciousness and energy
come together in desire for transformation
or is evolution inevitable?

The tabloids tell me no.
Opposition has always been a sign
that one must be doing something right!

And so now
I am reminded to
get on with it

You never said
this was the only path
but it works for me

Clever and unpredictable,
Let me kindle an undying spark
in honor of your
outrageous sense of humor,
impeccable taste,
and frankness at all costs

Occasionally reminding myself
how the hunger
tore at my soul
before you filled the fridge
and paid the electric bill for many lifetimes

I know no fear
You have taken it with you
I cannot thank you enough
