Acts of loveOf all the acts of love that you showed your students, perhaps the greatest was the way you made sure that all of your students were physically taken care of before you left the body. I know that spiritual teaching always caused you a lot of physical pain because of the karmas of students that you were taking on. And I believe that the pain grew exponentially worse for you in the last year or two of your life, because there was just so much to work through and you were getting physically weaker. It would, I'm sure, have been easy in some sense just to have checked out earlier, or just to have given up on teaching and on us. And yet I watched what you did for me and what you did for each and every one of your students in the last few months and years of your life, and it was very beautiful and very compassionate. You made sure that all of us were taken care of before you left the body, and that our physical lives were finally back on track. Our lives aren't perfect yet, of course--and that's because striving for our own personal perfection is our job, not yours. But you made sure that each of us would have a chance at perfection, at enlightenment in this incarnation, and for that you have won my permanent love and respect. -- David
