On the Edge of Eternity
Perfect stillness, yet motion, An absence so great, Its presence felt, Enlightenment smiled at me And turned the corner. Life is an exquisite fabric of light in which all of us participate, knowingly or not. We are not alone, we are not limited, we are in fact beings of magnificent capabilities and mystery. We do, however, tend to forget this in the crunch of daily life. Any why is that? It is because we do not understand how to live optimally, how to access higher states of mind, emotion and energy. As beings we are constructed to be able to experience a vast range of levels in awareness, energy and light. Like a piano, we have multiple octaves we can use to make the music of life. The higher bandings of awareness, like upper octaves on a scale of music, are ready should we be skilled in playing them, but we have to know how to access them That is what Rama taught me - He taught me how to change and live in worlds of light, mystery and beauty. He taught me how to experience those very refined states of mind, emotion and energy. Sweet, perfect, crystal levels of ecstasy that lift the heart and mind out of the mundane and into the realm of magic, mystery and wonder. My teacher taught me by the direct transmission of energy and wisdom and the understandings of how to live day-to-day life in such a manner that supports higher states of mind. He set a tone for me that gave me an example to reach for in my life. He set this example in very subtle ways with his meditations and in very practical ways with how he lived his life. I learned to push myself, to not accept mediocrity, to strive for impeccability in each endeavor and to reach, in all areas, beyond what I believed I could do. I learned that enlightenment exists in every day, that we can experience perfection, that infinite mind does exist and that life is a gift to be lived fully by doing our best in every moment and by loving and giving to others. My teacher was a magnificent being of light who walked this planet for a while and with great style, humor, sacrifice and grace taught the pathway to enlightenment as none have done before. To my teacher Rama, thank you, always and forever. -- Myriah McGorrill
